James is the founder and sole organizer of The Jams Marathon. He only did this initially because he misread it and thought it was his name. A resident of Marion, he completed the inaugural running of the course in 2025 and currently holds the course record. He is the Committee's youngest member and its only member who has run the race.
Stephanie joined the Committee in 2025 and is the Race's first point of contact for participant inquiries. A graduate of the University of Iowa, she has never run a marathon herself, which she feels gives her a unique perspective on the runner experience. She lives in Cedar Rapids with her family.
A native of eastern Iowa, Garry brings nineteen years of experience in tile installation and an unwavering commitment to mile-marker accuracy. He has personally walked the course and confirms that it is, in fact, 26.2 miles.
Dawn oversees the Race's modest accounts and is responsible for sourcing the official finisher mugs. She is known among Committee members for her organizational rigor and her unwillingness to authorize mugs that are not microwave-safe.
Steven coordinates all four on-course aid stations and personally captains the Mile 23.8 station at the Urbana Pavilion. A longtime friend of the Race Director, he is the Committee's authority on hydration logistics and cold-towel deployment.
